• WHILL powers wheelchairs with electricity

Making life simpler for the disabled, a Japanese company recently pulled the veil off a concept that could make wheelchairs a lot easier to use. The company called WHILL designed and developed an accessory that attaches to standard wheelchairs, enabling them to be powered by electricity, instead of requiring them to be pushed around. This wheelchair add-on sports a 24-volt motor and a battery pack that takes about 2 hours to charge up. On a full belly, the add-on can take the user up to 30km, good enough for just about any wheelchair user. For now, the concept’s being tested and pricing has been decided yet, though, we’re pretty sure this one hitting production lines will change the lives of wheelchair users around the globe forever.
