Yet another electric scooter to join the ranks of the e-Vivacity scooter by Peugeot and Mini’s Scooter-E, this little two-wheeler with electric insides was designed and developed and by Volkswagen and will soon hit mass-production. Unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show, the scooter came as a surprise to the media and visitors. Weighing in at 44 pounds (without its nickel-metal hydride battery) is extremely easy to operate and maintain. Using a 350-watt electric motor, the scooter boasts a 25 mile range and a 30 mile per hour top speed, enough to get you around the neighborhood in an eco-friendly way. All this can be increased with a little more dough though. For now, VW has kept the scooters pricing and weight in check. For bettered performances, the scooter can also be given a lithium-ion battery pack and a 700-watt electric motor, guaranteed to push the performance scales upwards.

An environmentally-healthy release by the German automakers, this scooter is sure to win hearts around.
