One of the reasons electric vehicles haven’t caught on completely yet, is the fact that people think they’re too slow! While that certainly was the case decades ago, times have changed and there are a bunch of EVs out there that leave gas-guzzlers in the dust. To prove this, we’ve been reading up on the world’s fastest electric vehicles, and here’s what we dug out. The fastest electric vehicle today is the JR-Maglev MLX01 train, introduced in Japan. Touching speeds of 361 mph, this jaw-dropping train zips by quicker than you would imagine!

And if a seriously fast train isn’t good enough to convince you, here’s more. The lithium-ion battery-powered Venturi Buckeye Bullet 2.5 electric “car” broke electric land speed records, touching the 307.7 mph mark. When it comes to two-wheelers, Team McBride’s Lawless OCC Rocket Bike shot off to 201 mph. When it comes to production motorcycles, Mission Motors currently manufactures the Mission R superbike, that crosses the 60 mph mark in below 3 seconds, a speed good enough to convince you that electric vehicles do give gas-powered rides a serious run for all they’re worth!
