The people of Tennessee can now have their electric cars charge all the way up while parked. A solar parking lot cropped up in Pulaski, Tennessee recently. Here, you can drive up, park your electric car and hook it on to the charger that will juice your car while you get on with your business. This is the first EV charging station of its type in the whole Southeast. The parking lot uses a 20kW solar array on its roof. Costing around $180,000, this one had most of its costs overcome by federal and state funds. All you need to use this parking lot is a plug-in hybrid or an electric car. Similar stations will soon sprout up in Nashville and Chattanooga too.

Tennessee will play home to around 14 more stations in the following three years. Looks like the people of Tennessee are going green on road before any of us!
