Tired of riding up hill? Here’s a nice way to generate electricity and save your own. Sanyo unveiled its new SPL Eneloop Hybrid bicycle that can charge up while pedaling along on flat surfaces. The bike uses the energy generated to run a motor that enables the bike to climb up hill without pedaling, saving your energy. If you’re cycling to lose weight, this isn’t the bike for you. However, the SPL Eneloop can prove to be a clean energy saving way to transport. Unlike earlier versions that used to regeneratively charge up on downhills or on applying brakes, the new SPL Eneloop juices up on flat surfaces too. It also boasts a basket to carry around your tit-bits.

You can get yourself one of these ¥157,290, or about $1,800 from April 21st.
