To join the ranks of the Nissan Leaf and the Mitsubishi i-Miev, Saab is busy applying the finishing touches to its own electric that will show up at the Paris Motor Show sometime this month. Christened the 9-3 ePower, this car won’t be burning the asphalt anytime soon, taken that its test runs and evaluation will begin in 2011 by Saab. Using a 84 horsepower electric motor, the 9-3 ePower boasts a top speed of 90 miles an hour. Picking up from 0 to over 60 miles per hour in 8.5 seconds, this car’s compact lithium-ion battery pack snuggled at its wheel base offers a range of 125 miles on a full belly.

Saab hopes the annual sales of this car has a huge share in the predicted 500,000 units of EVs to be sold globally every year. Now stepping into cleaner waters, we expect Saab to come up with more electric cars in future!
