Concept cars are designed to make you drool. They also tend to make you sigh in disgust at your old hatchback parked in your garage. Well, electric concept cars make us drool too, more than a hungry puppy watching a kid eat chicken. And that’s saying something. Well, this one-of-a-kind car by Renault fulfills all the stuff we’ve penned down on our wish-list, great looks, and electric engine, a good top speed and pickup, and a quick charge. Christened the DeZir, the car will feature at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, with styling led by Laurens van den Acker. Renault has also stated that this is just the first of a whole range of concept cars that will pop up in future.

The car’s electric motor is mounted mid-rear, with its batteries behind the seats. It offers 147 horsepower, that’s around 110kW and 226Nm (166 lb-ft) of torque. It charges up in 20 minutes. The car also boasts a top speed of 112mph and can go from 0-60mph in just 5 seconds. That’s quicker than you say “Oh! Look! An electric concept car!”
