• Parking bicycles vertically, doesn’t necessarily mean piling them up, thinks Manifesto Architecture

As the world is slowly moving towards greener practices, bicycles might just seize the spotlight once again, being the cleanest way to travel short distances. And if this does turn into a reality, parking spaces for all these bicycles might just be the next big urban problem! So, Manifesto Architecture, in preparation for the dawn of the cleanest vehicle around, has come up with a unique and practical way to provide vertical parking spaces for bicycles. Instead of those bike racks that hungrily eat up those precious square meters of urban space, the Bike Hanger helps park them vertically. Now this doesn’t simply mean piling the bikes one on top of the other. The system holds around 20 to 36 bicycles each and can be agglomerated to create rows.

Made of plastic, stainless steel and carbon frames, the hanger uses a rotating mechanism and works somewhat like that good old Ferris wheel down at the pier. This one sure is a unique and seemingly practical way to park bicycles!
