New recharging software makes Ford Electric Vehicles choose the best electricity rates
Ford has taken a leap into futuristic technology by launching new charging software. This software will enable the car to communicate directly with the electricity grid via smart meters. According to Ford, this smart charging for electric cars are very important else it would be disastrous when millions of cars would plug itself into sockets and start charging when the demand of electricity is at its peak. If cars are charged at night when mostly the demand is low, very few power plants are required to meet this demand. With smart recharging software, things become easier because Ford’s vehicle-to-grid program allows the driver to accept and charge during off-peak hours only.
