An auto rickshaw is the most important vehicle in India. After the trains, it is the most important mode of transport in the country. But they are also the most polluting. It is like you can’t live without them and you can’t live with them. But some engineering students from RV Engineering College, Bangalore have developed an auto that runs on water. The kit designed by the team breaks water into hydrogen and oxygen and then supplies the hydrogen as fuel to the engine along with a sufficient quantity of oxygen to facilitate combustion. This kit is placed under the passengers’ seat and is directly connected to the fuel tank which contains distilled water with a small quantity of potassium hydroxide.
