• IKEA furniture store installs four EV charging stations in car park

  • Picture_015.jpgThe next time you drive into the IKEA outlet in Covina, California, make sure you plug your electric ride in while you go shopping for furniture! The furniture retailer, in a tie up with ECOtality Inc. recently installed four Blink Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations in the parking lot of the store. All you need to do, is swipe a Blink InCard at the charging booth, plug your parked EV and have it juice up while you shop. IKEA has also planned for four more similar installations across stores in Western United States. With the Blink InCards available at the company’s website on www.blinknetwork.com, the move is bound to inspire other retailers around into installing similar charging stations in their parking lots, which in turn encourages users to drive EVs.
