• Human powered hovercraft crossed Thames River

The steamboat Willy is a pedal-powered hovercraft built at the University of London by a flight group. It is built with lightest material ever like carbon fiber, glass cloth etc. to make it float so as to cross the Thames. And what do you think happened. Yup all this effort and the hovercraft crossed the Thames successfully. It is an impressive piece of engineering. The glass cloth that is used to cover the Styrofoam is quite delicate and will get damage if not handled properly. But this was pedal-powered.
