France will now pay employees to cycle to work!

We’ve always been flag bearers of bicycles, given the fact that these two-wheeled contraptions are the most energy-efficient and eco-friendly way of travelling in contemporary times. The French authorities agree with this and have decided to promote bicycle use in France using a simple but effective incentive. The nation has literally decided to start paying people to bike to work!

The French transport ministry has joined hands with private companies and institutions and will now pay employees 25 euro cents for kilometer traveled. This bike-to-work scheme will encourage more people to leave their four-wheelers at home and hop onto a bicycle instead. France isn’t the first country to offer incentives to those who bicycle to work. Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and Britain currently all have initiatives like these in place.
