• “All Is Well”, the bike that runs on compressed air by Jaipur students

  • All-Is-Well_bike.jpg Millions of people in India use scooters, motorbikes, and every other contraption on two wheels you can think of, to commute. And of course, the rising fuel prices have everyone falling of their seats lately. Well, a few months ago, a movie in India caused quite a sensation, outlining the lives of three engineering students. This very movie, “3 Idiots” has inspired a few Jaipur students to come up with their own rendition of a bike. The bike is named “All Is Well”, a catch phrase from the movie itself, and had the students working on it for 6 months, devoting 10 hours a day to its development.

The boys used a 4-stroke turned 2-stroke engine for this one that needs just a single kick of a lever to start off. Don’t expect break neck speeds though. It can go up to 30km/h, fast enough to dodge the packed streets of India. This bike shuns the use of fuel, and chooses compressed air instead, meaning no pollution whatsoever. This also decreases the costs for maintenance. Compressed air could just be the next best thing to power up our vehicles after all!
