Do you often find it hard to let go of your old mobile phones lying in your drawer, it could be for sentimental reasons or just plain laziness to hand it over to one of those recycling centers many companies have started. Well, if you live near Omaha, Neb, you have one more incentive to recycle it, cold hard cash, instantly! The Eco ATM e-cycling station electronically inspects phones, assigns them real-time secondary market value, and provides in-store payment–if the handset still has any monetary worth. If not, consumers can choose to assign the device to the recycle bin.

The makers of the Eco ATM have plans for recycling more devices in the future; the EcoATMs are expected to accept all manner of devices, including mobile phones, MP3 players, notebooks, printers and digital cameras.
