+ Pool, the floating pool that cleanses water for New York City

Now the Big Apple is as busy and crowded as a metropolitan city can get, and people barely have the space to jump in a pool to cool their heads off, especially in hot steamy seasons like this. Well, maybe there isn’t a lot of space for community swimming pools on land; the water out there sure has a surface fit enough for one though. A group of designers from New York have had a bit of thinking to do and have come up with a design for a floating pool that could be located of the river’s water surface. Known as the + Pool, this one sure is an appealing design, taken that it is practical and can work just fine in NYC. Also, it helps purify the water in the river too, as an added advantage.

Two shallow pools, a kid’s pool, two deeper pools and a sports pool fit into this 9,000 sq ft swimming area. Using concentric layers of water-cleansing materials for constructing, this pool rids the water of bacteria, pollutants and odors too! Recreational designs like these are indeed the need of the day in our big crowded cities.
