General Electric develops Home Energy Management System
General Electric has yet another home energy management system that’ll help you keep tabs on all the energy you use and inform you about just how much switching on a light bulb in your home effects the environment, in a hope to make energy efficiency on a residential level better. The Internet-based system, called the Nucleus, is an application that’ll connect to smart appliances and devices connected to the network in your home. Also, the system communicates with utility companies using a smart meter, in an aim for a smart-grid. The Nucleus system also includes a small gadget that works as a network hub and helps connect to a thermostat, smart meter and other such appliances.
Well, we sure hope GE’s plans for a smart-grid work out just as planned, and we efficiently use energy in our homes.
