The Big Apple is hardbound on going green again. It probably hates its rosy read color now. So green is the future for New York! And to do so, the city had an airplane take to the skies, to collect data and chart some awesome super accurate maps that will help solar feasibility and has also popped out information on climate change.

The airplane, ready with its laser mapping equipment flew above on nine six-hour flights using a technology known as LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) to come up with this data. His system detects changes in topography and composition, using a laser to reflect. The maps will help to check feasibility of a large scale solar panel installation in the future. And with this, New York is one step closer to a green and bright future.
