The solar and wind powered helmet can charge the gadgets on the go
A couple of engineering students at the Nirma University in Ahmedabad, India have come up with a great way to produce energy on your bike ride. Pragnesh Dudhaiya and Aalok Bhatt came up with this solar and wind powered helmet for a green festival held in their college. The helmet is equipped with solar panels and a little fan, which looks somewhat cheesy though. The helmet is capable of charging up your cell phone on your commute. The guys added a sticker proudly displaying a slogan, “Save Environment” on their invention. That’s not all. Flick a switch and the helmet can also store energy collected by the solar panels.
The inventors hope to file a patent and foresee a helmet like this in the US market selling at as low as $22. The prototype does need a whole rework on its design though.
