• National Ecological Network Observatory to help scientists improve environment

  • neon-tracking-project.jpg
A program called the National Ecological Network Observatory or NEON is going to be the solution to all our environmental problems. Or so is the intention with this program that is meant to connect all the field stations across US together which will help provide scientists data looking for and tackling climatic changes, biodiversity and other environmental issues.

The project is going to be funded by the National Science Foundation and will cost $300 million to set up and $60 million to maintain per year when it is operational. Spend where it is worth, they say and why not? The project is planned to get started by 2016. that’s good enough time for the recession to pass too.
