Hitachi Power saving LCD dims down when viewers look away

Energy conversation isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when your sweetheart calls you in the middle of your favorite film. You hit the mute button when you hear your phone beeping and keep walking back and forth till the call is finished. Hitachi has designed a new TV, which it showcased at CEATEC JAPAN 2009, which switches to low power as it detects the viewers eyes wandering from the TV. A truly innovative technology which will surely keep green marchers like us smiling for a long time to come.

Hitachi has not revealed any additional information about this TV, but it’s safe to say that the feature will come with some serious benefits like integration with a media server for the home, giving users one spot for all their communication needs.
