  • starchaser.jpg
Starchaser Industries developed an environmentally friendly rocket engine. They are conducting a full test firing using grant funding of £130,730 from the North West regional Development Agency (NWDA). This is for the sakes of developing a unique eco-friendly rocket engine that will find eventual use as a safety system aboard commercial space rockets. This hybrid rocket engine will utilize green propellants and the technology can be used aboard space launch vehicles as recovery systems to ensure the safe retrieval of astronauts in the event of an emergency situation. The project uses hydrogen peroxide as an oxidiser combined with solid fuel made from waste materials such as used car tyres.
