Most of us fit blinds over our windows to keep the light and heat out through the day, along with the need of privacy. However Korean designers Yoon-Hui Kim and Eun-Kyung Kim have come up with an innovative usage of the blocked heat and light. Dubbed as the Solar vertical lamp, they have designed the blinds such that the outer surface that faces the sun is fused with solar pads. These pads absorb sun’s energy through the day and as the sun sets, this stored solar energy is utilized to light of the darkness of your den. Befitted with Led fixtures, the blinds give rise to integrated light lamps. The duo have presented three options of light fixtures too chose from. The stylish chandelier is best suited for the living room while the floor lamp can go in the study. The table lamp can light up bed side reading times. Cool light concept powered by hot energy!
