• CES 2009 will phase in eco-friendly, energy-efficient HDTVs

    EngadgetHD foresees a green sweep at the impeding CES 2009. Already following up on the energy efficient HDTVs, they report that the much awaited electronic show will focus on energy efficient HDTVs. Twice predicts that the latest television and video products slated to be unveiled at the show from Jan. 8-11, 2009, in Las Vegas, will definitely be greener, if not more profitable. Going by the market, visitors can watch out for new eco-friendly TV designs conforming to the Energy Star 3.0 guidelines by the first-tier manufacturers. Also a number of top-tier LCD TV model lines are expected to shift to the use of new back-lighting systems, such as LEDs, to reduce power consumption while boosting contrast and color saturation performance levels significantly.
