Home is where the heart is and heart is where the green is these days. So when American developers LivingHomes partnered with the Kohler Company, many individuals can breathe an excitement sigh waiting for their ‘two-storey Kohler living featuring furnishings, materials, products and technology that has great designs and technology with low ecological footprint. This design may be an excuse to achieve the LEED-Platinum certification, but as long as it benefits some part of the eco system, its welcome. This project’s six main goals during construction and operation are – Zero Water, Zero Energy, Zero Waste, Zero Emissions, Zero Carbon, and Zero Ignorance.

It will consist of recycled steel and timber-efficient engineered lumber making up the modules, central vacuum system and mini-duct air distribution and ventilation systems that help improve indoor air quality, bio-composite wood siding, recycled glass tiles, blown-in insulation, high-performance windows with recycled frames, water-saving features and the home resource monitoring system that displays water, energy, and gas usage in real-time. The home was showcased at the TED Conference in Long Beach sometime ago. The Kohler LivingHome is on offer at $499,950. I would buy one, if I got a few raise. And a promotion. And maybe win a lottery also.
