With the environment being a huge concern world over, for whatever corporate gains it may be, big time home companies, realtors, builders, architects, etc are beign helpful by looking towards getting their foot into the green zone. At the 2008 Vancouver Home & Garden Show held recently a particular eco-friendly prefabricated home was unveiled which left everyone in awe. The EcoFabulous House designed by Architecton and Shelter Industries is supposed to be a ‘lean, green design that still puts style and comfort in the forefront’. The design is also extremely appealing at 1,400 sq ft with features like reclaimed wood, recycled materials and sustainable products. Also, there are energy-efficient appliances and windows, water-saving technology and smart wiring.

This is a factory-built design which also pitches into the eco-friendly bandwagon by reducing emissions and waste associated with on-site construction. The house consists of two concepts – one housing an open-concept living area and kitchen and the other occupied by two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Both concepts also have a 400 sq ft patio and the facade made of cedar and steel. It doesn’t even feel bad that we are going backwards instead of visualizing gory sights of robots ruling our lives.
