• Solar powered, debit card equipped parking lots

Cars are done, then came the parking lots. So we then cannot ignore the parking meters can we? Well, one metro Detroit community didn’t. They have installed solar-powered, debit card equipped parking meters. Twenty-five e-Park meters will be installed in downtown Ann Arbor and will cover about 150 parking spaces. A four-digit number identifies each e-park space. Drivers take note of that number and punch it into computers in the e-parking station, along with the amount of time they expect to use. The parking lot system will also allow rivers to use their phones to call and add time to their spot.

The stations can be operated at any given time, weather and condition. These station have a two-hour time limit as well. Have you noticed how that rectangular block of card is taking over our lives? Wonder if someone will come up with a green credit card where all your pending bills will clear if you get some solar power in. ok, wishful thinking.
