• Printing solar cells using DSSC technology now close to reality

Printing solar cells, what we would think as a sci-fi technology just a few years ago, is now closer to reality than ever. SolarPrint, an Irish startup firm is all set to give the world its share of solar cell printing technology, and CEO Mazhar Bari is enthusiastic as ever. Dye sensitized solar cells, or DSSCs are part printable and part liquid and could be a cheaper option to solar cells used today. All that needs to be fixed now is the technology to manufacture these. Using an electrolyte paste made of smart nanomaterials, carbon nanotubes, graphene and ionic salts, these fully printable cells can be used indoors in diffused light too!

Bari envisions a world powered by DSSCs, for a greener and cleaner environment-friendly future.
