Yesterday, we came across plans for an Urban Technology Innovation Center in New York City’s university. The NYU has one more green addition, this time a new power plant worth $125 million! The new CoGeneration power plant will power-up the university, in a greener way than its ancestor. Highly efficient, this plant will help cut out Co2 emissions by a whole 23%. The University has been generating its own power since the ‘70s and has also been asked to cut down on emissions before. So, the university swapped the old CoGeneration plant, a 30-year-old oil fired one, for the new one placed underneath a plaza at 251 Mercer Street that’s a lot greener and efficient.

The new plant is 90% more effective than the old CoGeneration and will supply the university with twice the power output. The NYU sure is taking some giant green leaps these days!
