• New York City now values its sludge, a renewable energy source

The Big Apple has just stumbled upon a new way to generate electricity, this time with the help of sewage. The city is considering the use of sewage treatment as a source for generating energy. The city sure hates its sewage owing to all the bad odour and contamination of waterways caused because of improper disposal. So,
New York is now planning to use all that sludge, methane and waste water to generate some electricity. The Department of Environmental Protection, will play a major part in this move and heating fuel will be extracted from sludge and butanol, a better alternative to gasoline.

A great initiative taken up by New York City, we hope all goes well, and the sludge the city produces helps generate some clean renewable energy in future.
