• China goes green with the completion of the ‘The Green Roof of the World’ project

  • china_flag_map.jpg ‘The Green Roof of the World’ project has been completed by China Mobile, the zenith of Chinese telecommunications. This has made available solar and wind energy in around 1,000 power sites at a height of around 4,000 meters above sea level. This has also reduced the use of 4400 tons of coal every year. The project has also saved the environment from the emission of 92.8 tons of SO2 and 14504 tons of CO2 gases along with 1080 tons of the ever polluting throw away, soot. This project is part of China Mobile’s ‘Green Action Plan’ adopted by the company in 2007 that sheds light on energy-saving techniques, waste reduction recycling and other such pro-energy matters.


    The company has aimed at reducing its carbon dioxide emission rates by 6.94 million tons by the year 2010.this project also enabled around 683 villages and towns in China to have wireless connectivity and Internet facilities! The roof of the world, China has set an example to other nations to turn green and Eco- friendly. Way to go China!
