• China building cow poop to electricity plant

Cow poop wasn’t thought of much, except being used to burn as fuel and help as a natural fertilizer. Now, the waste our horned friends leave behind can be used to generate electricity! A plant is currently being sprouted up and built in China that will convert cow poop left behind by around 60,000 cows into electricity. Methane gas powered generators have been heard of and used before. Cow poop gives out a load of this gas. A project of this scale has never been conceived yet though, wherein four GE Jenbacher 420 gas engines will be installed. The plant, being built by Huishan Dairy, will help generate about 5.6 million watts of power, enough to lighten up around 3,500 homes in the United States.

And so, with that, cows turn into a great source of milk, food, fertilizers, leather and electricity!
