Remember the Levis jeans that were to be made from recycled nylon waste from fishing nets? You can now have sneakers that are made from recycled ocean waste too, thanks to Adidas. The company has partnered with Parley for the Oceans that is made from recycled oceanic plastic and 3D printed fibers. The shoe is said to be a good looker as well. This means that you can pick your favorite brand of sneakers from the shelf and have the satisfaction of having done your bit for the environment. The company has been proactive in reducing the polluting effects of plastic by phasing it out plastic bags across retail stores and reduced the plastic micro-beads in its body care products.

“The 3D-printed Ocean Plastic shoe midsole stands for how we can set new industry standards if we start questioning the reason of what we create,” said Adidas’ Eric Liedtke. “We shouldn’t be told to do the right thing. The industry can’t afford to wait for directions any longer.”
