• Helsinki to use smart transportation grid to make public transport easy and cheaper

  • helsinki-tramTravelling in Helsinki will soon turn a lot easier, particularly if you decide to leave your car at home and opt for a public transport mode. The Finnish city is currently drawing up plans to lay out a transportation mesh that will help people find directions and pay for the modes of transport they use, at one go! The trial will be run in the Vallila neighborhood around the end of the year with the assistance of a few participating companies.

The service will then spread out as per user requirements and acceptance. The system will help travelers save cash by showing them the quickest and least expensive routes to take. Apart from that, it’ll also help save the trouble of having to visit multiple websites or use a ton of apps just to get around the city using public transport!
