BMW i3 wins the prestigious ‘Green Car of the Year’ and the ‘Car Design of the Year’ awards

When BMW first unveiled its electric city car, the i3, the automotive world pretty much stopped in its tracks to have a long look at what this German manufacturer has brought to the table. The well-deserving car has now bagged prestigious titles, including the Green Car of the Year and the Car Design of the Year at the World Car of the Year Awards at the 2014 New York Auto Show.

Quoting the World Green Car judges, “Radical in looks, construction, and powertrain, the BMW i3 is one of very few clean-sheet-of-paper cars designed from the ground up for efficiency, with the different needs of the new century’s mega cities in mind.” The $41,350 BMW i3 is the beginning of a green car revolution that will soon make personal transport, a greener affair.
