• United Airlines replaces paper flight manuals with 11,000 Apple iPads

  • d.jpgUnited Airlines recently decided to ditch paper use, and opted for iPads instead, with technology pushing away conventional paper flight manuals. In an environment-conscious move, the airline decided to upscale its technology and reduce its carbon footprint, and decided to start off by distributing 11,000 iPads to make paper-use for flight manuals obsolete. The pilots will use Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck, a premiere application for the iPad with interactive, data-driven enroute navigation information and worldwide geo-referenced terminal charts.

This sure serves the purpose a lot better than paper flight manuals, and does the environment a huge favor too!
