Looks like the 2010 Soccer World Cup has brought along a load of green ideas to South Africa. One such innovation is the Sun-TV. The name says it all; these independent solar- powered TV stations will help provide a sustainable access to education and the games too. With the Sun-TV, the football crazy rural population will have access to the Fifa World Cup too! Not everyone is privileged enough to watch the matches live in stadiums or on their own TV. Well, these TV stations will help entertain the disadvantaged masses of South Africa.

A typical Sun-TV station will have solar modules mounted on to soak in the sun’s energy. This will be stored in batteries and using charging devices, the TV set will be powered up. The TV station will house a DVD player and a satellite receiver too. These TV stations will be maintained and operated by SolarWorld Africa for at least five years and are designed to be reliable, maintenance-free and easy to install. Entertainment for the masses, the Sun-TV!
