Robotic Technology has introduced a new Unmanned Ground Vehicle called the Energetically Autonomous Tactical Robot that fuels itself on biomass. This robot, researchers estimate, needs just 150 pounds of vegetation to be able to go 100 miles. There are sensors in the robot that will make it recognize biomaterial which is then plucked by its robotic arms and placed in the biomass combustion chamber that converts it into electricity for its movement. It also consists of a Stirling engine, an autonomous control system and multi-cell rechargeable batteries.

The Energetically Autonomous Tactical Robot can be used for both civil and military purposes and belong to a project that is funded by the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency. Wall-e after all.
