• Close to nature, with an office in the woods

Some of the perks of being an architect is that you can use your creativity and build something extremely outrageous. The architects Jose Selgas and Lucia Cano of Spain’s Selgascano did just that by building themselves an office in the woods.

The design of the office is like a long tunnel, covered by a curved, 20 millimeters thick acrylic window. The 110 millimeter thick opaque wall is made of layers of insulated fiberglass and polyester. The design is such that, there is plenty of natural light in the office. To keep the office cool, one end of the office is attached to a pulley system, to raise or lower a slab to let in some fresh air. Working in an office like this must be an absolute joy! Just hope that the employees don’t spend all their time gazing at nature.
