• Sydney Theater Company embraces renewable energy with solar panels

  • cate-blanchett.jpg The Sydney Theater Company will now do a lot more than entertain you. It’ll now be a green energy producer, juicing up using rays from the sun. Cate Blanchett and husband Andrew Upton are hell bound on turning the theater company into a renewable energy source. The company installed a bunch of solar panels on the rooftop of its theater that will fulfill around 70% of the energy requirements. That’s enough to power up 46 homes! Part of the company’s Green Wharf program, the initative was funded by a sweet $2 million from Dr. Zhengrong Shi, the federal and the NSW government. Founder and CEO Suntech, the company that installed these panels, Dr. Shi feels this will be a great way to set an example and have people turn to natural energy sources.

This initative will have the people of Sydney think about all that green energy they can harvest, as the sun shines down generously.
