• Manned solar-powered aircraft Sunseeker II to take to the sky in April

    The Sunseeker II designed by aircraft mastermind Eric Raymond will be launched in April 5 after the e-flight expo. This one will feature more surface area for solar cells, wing modifications and lithium polymer batteries to improve performance that the Sunseeker I that was launched in 1990 with 2.5-horsepower and that crossed the US in 21 flights with 121 hours in the air. The Sunseeker II will rely on batteries for the takeoff and solar power to operate and glide during flight.


    In April it will begins its journey where it will fly over eight countries including Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary and Slovenia. The flight will have zero carbon emissions. Of course.
